Industry specific app development, built around your sector’s rules
Industry specific app development starts with a question most generic agencies skip: which rules, integrations and store policies apply before anyone draws a screen? A telemedicine app, a wallet and a restaurant ordering app can share most of their code and still fail for completely different reasons. This hub lists the 17 sectors we build for, what usually goes wrong in each, and where to read more.

Why industry knowledge changes the build, not just the pitch
Most of an app is the same everywhere: sign-in, profiles, lists, search, push notifications, an admin panel. The expensive surprises sit in the remaining part, and they are almost always sector-specific. A health app that sends a symptom in a push notification has a privacy incident. A shopping app that routes physical goods through Apple’s in-app purchase gets rejected. A lending app with the wrong repayment terms is blocked by App Review before a single user signs up.
So we treat the industry as an input to discovery, not a marketing label. In the first one to two weeks we map where personal data flows, which third parties touch it, which payment rules apply on each store, and which integrations you depend on (an EHR, a POS, a core banking partner, a courier API). That map drives the fixed price that follows discovery, and it is why sector pages on this site go into rules and failure modes rather than feature wish lists.
If you want the app-type view instead (taxi, food delivery, marketplace, wallet), see the types of mobile apps we build.

Which rules to check for your sector
A starting point for discovery, not legal advice. Your lawyer confirms what applies; we build to their answer.
| Sector | Typical app types | Rules and policies to check | Common integration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Healthcare | Telemedicine, patient portals, remote monitoring | HIPAA (if you serve covered entities), FTC Health Breach Notification Rule, UK GDPR / EU GDPR special category data | EHR systems, video, HealthKit / Health Connect |
| Fintech & banking | Wallets, P2P, lending, banking | PCI DSS v4.0.1, Strong Customer Authentication (UK/EU), Apple’s lending and crypto guidelines, your licence conditions | Payment processor, KYC vendor, banking partner |
| E-commerce & retail | Shopping apps, marketplaces, grocery, loyalty | Apple 3.1.3(e) and Google Play payments policy, European Accessibility Act, CCPA / GDPR | Store platform, payments, shipping |
| Food & restaurant | Ordering, delivery, table booking | Physical-goods payment rules, EAA for meal booking platforms, location-data consent | POS, kitchen display, courier or driver app |
| Education | Courses, tutoring, school apps | COPPA (US, under-13 users), GDPR / UK GDPR, store age ratings | Video, LMS, payments |
| Social & dating | Feeds, chat, matching | Apple 1.2 user-generated content rules (filter, report, block, contact info) | Moderation, chat, media storage |
Data protection law follows the user, not the developer: the UAE PDPL, for example, reaches organisations outside the UAE that process data of people in the UAE.

How we run industry specific app development projects
The process is the same one described on how we work, with sector checks added at the points where they are cheapest to act on.
Discovery with a data-flow map
One to two weeks of workshops. Alongside screens and the backlog, we produce a diagram of every place personal, health or payment data goes, and list each third party that touches it.
Rules and vendor check
Your counsel confirms which laws apply. We confirm each vendor can meet them (for example, a hosting provider that signs a business associate agreement) before it goes into the architecture.
Fixed price and plan
The quote follows discovery, with compliance work listed as line items rather than buried. MVPs typically take 8 to 16 weeks after discovery.
Two-week sprints with demo builds
Each sprint ends with a TestFlight or Play internal testing build, so you see sector-specific flows such as consent screens or KYC states early.
Security testing and store review
We test against OWASP MASVS, prepare accurate privacy labels, and handle App Store and Google Play submission.
Choosing between an industry specialist and a generalist
You do not always need a sector specialist. You need sector experience when one of three things is true: you handle regulated data (health, payments, children), you depend on a legacy integration you do not control (an EHR, a POS, a core banking system), or a store policy shapes your business model (physical goods, lending, crypto, user-generated content).
When you compare vendors, ask each one to describe the last time a sector rule changed their design. Our checklist for choosing an app development company has more questions, and the mobile app consulting service covers sector assessments before you commit to a build.
Industry app development FAQs
Do you give legal advice on HIPAA, GDPR or PCI DSS?
No. We are engineers, not lawyers. We know how these rules translate into architecture, vendors and screens, and we flag where they are likely to apply. Your counsel decides what applies to your business; we then build to that decision and document how each requirement is met so your lawyer or auditor can check it.
What if my industry is not listed?
Most apps combine patterns we build often: bookings, payments, marketplaces, content, tracking and admin panels. Tell us the sector and the countries you will launch in. In discovery we research the rules and store policies that apply and list them in the plan before you sign a fixed price.
Does a regulated industry make my app much more expensive?
It adds work in predictable places: audit logs, encryption, consent screens, vendor contracts, security testing and documentation. The bigger cost risk is discovering these needs late, when screens and data models must change. Mapping them in discovery keeps them as visible line items. Use the cost calculator for a first range.
Can you sign an NDA before I explain my idea?
Yes. We sign an NDA before discovery as standard. You own the code, designs and store accounts, and code lives in your repository from day one. Our NDA and IP protection page explains the terms in plain English, including what happens to materials if you decide not to proceed.
Do you work with clients outside Pakistan?
Yes. We serve founders and product teams in the USA, UK, UAE and GCC, Europe and Australia. Pakistan Standard Time is UTC+5 with no daylight saving, which gives near-full overlap with the UAE and a strong morning overlap with the UK. US projects use a planned overlap window plus async handoffs.
Tell us your sector and your launch markets
We will map the rules, integrations and store policies that apply, then give you a fixed price after discovery. Expect a reply within one business day.
